Nu House Studios

Nu House Studio’s mission is to provide queer musicians, musicians of color, and other marginalized and underrepresented musicians a safe and comfortable space for high-quality recordings. We believe music makes a difference, driving social change and giving hope to others. Having a high-quality production is often necessary to have your voice heard in the music industry. However, access to such productions requires either significant capital, or buy-in from a major label. We hope to break the cycle of gatekeeping at the hands of predominantly white cishet men, and a musical voice to those who are often not allowed it. Running & maintaining a studio while paying our bills is costly, and no matter how we set our prices, a large percentage of people do not have access to disposable income to spend on production costs. Our Trans Musician Fund seeks to allow those with the means to do so to help pay for artists who would otherwise not be able to afford to work with the studio. 100% of donations from this fund will go to trans artists to cover production costs, transportation, and time off work to record. Additionally, you can support the Trans Musician Fund via our merch store on Bandcamp, where 100% of profits will also go towards supporting trans artists. If you are a trans artist who wishes to work with Nu House Studios & needs financial support in order to do so, please mention the Trans Musician Fund when you contact us about working together! We want to specifically support artists in financial need, but will not require any special applications, support will be based on availability & need from other artists. We would, however, be interested in hearing your music, as we love to support artists whose music promotes revolutionary social and political change!
