Discovering the glories of ancient traditions of Western and Byzantine sacred art. Living in Italy 12 years, studied classical academic drawing and turned my attention to Italo-Byzantine iconography and Gothic and early Renaissance painting in egg tempera, and discovered a vast, lost world filled with glittering mystical treasures buried and forgotten under Modernia's dull false linoleum floor.
