Buy a Coffee for DeHartMusic

Physics student turned full time musician. I run a podcast where I will record a new song once a week for a year.

I'm DeHart, a traveling musician! I grew up in Los Angeles, then moved to New Mexico, Manitoba, and finally Vancouver British Columbia where I am finishing a masters degree in nuclear physics... just to prove to myself I could do it, but I'm not just a nerd.

I've been playing piano since I was five and taught myself how to play acoustic guitar in high school where I found a natural talent for improvising silly songs. It wasn't until beginning grad school that I started to get serious about recording and music production so I could share my songs with family and friends back home.

With my degree finished, I now have the opportunity to take my music to the next level. Inspired by Jonathan Coulton, I am writing, recording, and releasing a song once a week for a year, fifty-two songs in total. I may be risking my future career in physics while pursuing this project, but I find this pressure will drive my creativity and help me produce better work.

The fifty-two songs will be a mixed bag of genres to stave off monotony. I also can't guarantee that every song is going to be a hit, but I will do my best job each week to bring something new and fun to the table. I really hope you can enjoy and support my work. Donations will help me afford to work on music full time and are greatly appreciated!

With love,
