I teach meditation and contemplative creativity, as well as make art. My primary medium is embroidery, but will occasionally work with pencil, pen, and paint. My artwork explores the beauty and mystery of life through the use of color, symbol, and story. “At the point” of a needle or pen, I reveal my internal process of understanding the great mystery of life and death. The works often feature the natural work and mythology. As a Zen monk, I live a very simple life, devoting much time to teaching and helping others improve their lives. Hello! Welcome to At The Point studio where I share my finished creative work and work that is being developed. Contemplative crafting is my form of daily meditation. My main focus is on needlepoint (embroidery and cross-stitch) or drawing. I create cross-stitch patterns and Stitch-a-longs so others can engage in a contemplative creative practice while making objects of beauty. My current writing project is a semi-autobiographical novel based on my experiences of being bullied when younger. I am also working on a collection of short stories based on fairy tales and folklore that explore gender, sexual orientation, and mental health issues.
