This archive is meant to store the oral histories of Singapore’s LGBTQIA+ community. We hope that through preserving our own queer histories through oral history we can create a better sense of the identity, community, and history of the queer community in Singapore. Oral history is a method of recording history through recordings and interviews of ordinary people. This allows for them to speak with their own voice instead of being filtered through another person’s point of view. This also makes history more accessible as it no longer is limited to text. Through the recordings in this archive, we hope to preserve as many histories and experiences within the queer community in Singapore as possible in an accessible way.
