Our archive is extensive. From out-of-print books dating back to the 19th-century to letters from, and photographs of, great African writers, we want to digitise significant sections of the archive to make it more widely accessible and preserve it for future generations.
LOATAD is a decolonised library, archive, writing residency, and museum in Accra, Ghana, dedicated to championing and preserving the work of African and Diaspora writers from the late 19th-century to the present day. Our expansive collection features +/- 4000 books by, and ephemera from, writers from 41 of Africa’s 54 countries and Black authors from the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond. This page will enable us to raise funds for: - 1 x CZUR ET18 Pro Smart Book/Document Scanner; - 1 x Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 23.8 Inch FHD Desktop PC; - 1 x Seagate 6 TB Backup Plus Hub External Hard Drive to begin the work of digitising and preserving our extensive archive of African literature and ephemera. Thank you for supporting our work.
