Laughing Stock Theatre is a brand new “Chicago-Style” Commedia dell’Arte troupe. Our members have been performing commedia separately and/or together for nearly 10 years. Our training collectively is mostly derived from people who have trained either with Antonio Fava, at Dell’Arte School, or at LeCoq’s school in France. We are bringing commedia to a modern audience. We try to maintain some traditional trappings and grounding, but let it be modern and relevant. This summer 5 of our core members will be studying directly with Antonio Fava, a maestro of commedia, Our programming includes monthly shows, monthly "jams", and educational workshops. Our monthly events are all pay-what-you-can. Your patronage will help support those pay what you can endeavors and expand our programming.
