I'm a mother of two, and if you've ever tried to write with a couple of pre-teens running about the house, well, you can imagine how productive that is. Help me set aside a little cash for two nights away to let me focus on finishing my next story!
I am a queer science fiction and fantasy writer who simply cannot resist a love story. My short fiction has been published by MidnightSun Publishing, EDGE Science Fiction & Fantasy Publishing, Atthis Arts, and Enchanted Conversation, and personal essays by Dead Housekeeping and The Timberline Review. I was named one of BlogHer's 2015 Voices of the Year for my essay on gay marriage, "Rights and Privileges." In addition to writing and editing, my past roles include Russian language scholar, composer, interpreter, event planner, and general cat herder. I currently serve as Editor-in-Chief of the online writing community YeahWrite, where I manage a quarterly flash writing competition, provide editorial evaluations, write (and co-write) articles on a variety of writing help topics, and generally keep the trains running on time.
