I'm an award-winning journalist who writes for The New York Times, NPR, The Economist, and others, following years as a staff reporter for Financial Times in New York and New Delhi, India.
I'm also a narrative writer with three Notable Essays in the Best American Essays; three awards from the United Nations Correspondents Association.
I've won the top prize from the Association of Healthcare Journalists for reporting from Bangladesh and India; and an honorable mention from the Society of Enviromental Journalists. I was a 2019 fellow at MacDowell and the Logan Nonfiction Program.
I am a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School, Columbia Journalism School, the MFA Creative Writing program at Hunter College, and Wellesley College.
