Lauren Melissa Ellzey (she/her), also known as Autienelle, is an autistic self-advocate and social justice influencer. Through writing, speaking, and presenting, she seeks to cultivate awareness and acceptance for the autistic community. Even more, she actively engages in dialogue about ableism across lines of difference, highlighting the inequitable systems that oppress queer and BIPOC communities. Her work has crossed paths with BBC Minute, Healthline, Pima County Health Department, NeuroClastic, Cripple Media, AbleZine, Glamour UK, Inclusion Festival, and Bold Strokes Books. In her professional career, she works as an instructional specialist with a passionate team that fosters inclusive classrooms for autistic K-12 students. In all, she hopes to co-build a society where autistics nurture autistics as we strive against ableism toward a destination of true inclusion.
