Hi! I'm Frankie, also known as Bird, and I'm an author, poet, blogger, and writer of many things! My blog is called As the Bird flies and is about a lot of different things including travel, writing, living in Amsterdam, and the power of affirmation (don't roll your eyes - it really does work!). I'm a Brit living in the Netherlands where I work as a freelance writer part-time while also raising my two kids. I'm the author of four published books (and many more short stories) and a poetry collection due to be published in December 2020. I've been blogging since 2009, writing fiction since 2011, making WriteNOW Cards (positive affirmation cards for writers) since 2017, and writing poems since, well, forever. With this page I hope to build a community of writers and readers who can support each other's work, and to get more of my own words in other people's hands and hearts.

      Gift yourself or a friend a collection of 30 bespoke positive affirmations created especially for whatever it is you are having trouble with or need to focus on. You don't need to share specifics just give me a vague idea of what is a struggle or focus right now - work, relationships, loss, trauma, energy, creativity - and I will get to work creating 30 positive statements of affirmation that will heal, soothe, motivate and encourage you to feel a little better about life right now. Affirmations are delivered as 30 JPEG files (as per photos attached), as well as lists in Word & PDF docs.

If you ordered bespoke affirmations: I want to give you the best possible affirmations for your or the recipient needs right now so please do share a bit about what you or your loved one needs. If there is a specific event, problem or source of stress, you can share it with me in confidence, or you can be as vague as it suits you. I will always try to make the affirmations as personal and specific to what you need help with so the more insight, the easier this is to do. If you feel strange talking to yourself or repeating affirmations, that's okay and it's very normal! While you can have a strong and effective inner conversation with yourself, you will be surprised how much easier it gets to say affirmations out loud when you try it. I will be sharing more tips for how to practice affirmation when I deliver your affirmations back to you.

    Please allow 1-2 business days for me to send a follow-up email asking for everything I need from you. After you have submitted all the information I need from you, please then allow 3-4 business days for any further communication from me. You can email me in the interim but I may not respond immediately. Any agreed written deliverables from me will be by email and/or in a Compressed Zip Folder. If you have commissioned affirmations: You will receive individual JPEG files for each affirmation, as well as a Word doc and PDF doc with the affirmations written in list form. You will also receive a PDF doc with an introduction to affirmation, as well as tips and advice on how to practice affirmation. These bespoke affirmations are created for your personal use only. You may do whatever you want with the affirmations (e.g. share them on social media, share them with others, print them out etc), however, you may not use them in their current state (as created by me, Frances M. Thompson) for any for-profit commercial activity. If you wish to use them in this way, please contact me so we can discuss licensing and commercial use.
