In addition to the thousands of dollars needed to obtain expensive gear items such as cameras, lenses, and laptops, other regular costs include websites to display and share photos (from $80/year for Flickr to $600 per year for sites with purchase/download capabilities), hard drives to store the photos ($70-$140/year), editing software monthly subscriptions ($120/year), transportation costs ($5/game), maintenance for camera gear ($200/year) and things such as cargo shorts and new sneakers. And coffee. Lots of coffee.
