Web memoir about being an immigrant in Canada. Hi! I'm Daria, a Russian immigrant living in Canada. My life has always resembled some twisted sitcom; the kind where ambiguous, unexpected things happen and you don’t know whether to laugh or cry about them. But moving to Canada elevated that experience to a whole new level. I had been expecting a challenging financial situation, culture shock, language barrier. But boy was I not prepared for what actually happened! After the dust of my first year in Canada had settled, I decided to put my story out there in the form of a web memoir - which is a fancy term for a blog about things that happened in the past. It consists of short stories, some funny, some embarrassing, some sad, and occasionally some inappropriate. Just like life. I hope that it will shed light on some unobvious struggles of being an immigrant.
