Folded Book Art

My name is Wouter and folded book art started as a gift for my girlfriend. I was looking for a meaningful gift for her upcoming birthday. After giving it some thought, I remembered I saw a piece of folded book art in a small town near San Francisco once. Back in 2009 I was volunteering with the American Conservation Experience (a volunteering organisation for international youth) in Yosemite NP, clearing hiking trails and restoring nature. During a breakperiod I had the chance to travel. This is where I saw a piece of folded book art in a small bookstore. This piece of book art always stayed in my mind, I was so intrigued with the way the pages were folded and display a certain word, it looked so cool. A few years later I remembered this book and I wanted to gift something like that to my girlfriend. She's an avid reader and a booklover, so I figured this would be the perfect gift. I searched the internet, but could not find anything. This made me decide to create my own piece of folded book art. After testing and trying for several months I finally found a way to fold a word into the pages of a book. The book I folded blew people away, everybody was so intrigued and amazed by the amount of detail and the way it was created. I decided to create a small webshop to share my creations with the world. It didn't take long for this to become a full blown webshop with a lot of different designs and patterns for anyone to fold into their own books. Now, many years later, my books and patterns travel all over the world to form gifts for all sorts of people.
