Hi! My name is Héctor, but you may know me as hecrj. I am working on Iced: an open-source, cross-platform GUI library for Rust. Around 5 years ago, I decided to create my own games while contributing to open-source. I chose Rust as their main programming language. The Rust gamedev ecosystem was not quite mature yet and I saw that as an excellent opportunity to contribute! Once I started working on my first game, my focus shifted towards game engine development, as it's tradition. After a couple of months, I released Coffee: an opinionated 2D game engine. Shortly after, I needed a user interface for my game and... I got side-tracked again and ended up building a cross-platform GUI toolkit for Rust called Iced!
