Your support on Ko-fi is greatly appreciated. About Me I am a published poet, a spoken word recording artist, a singer-songwriter, and a short filmmaker. I started my production company, In The Closet Productions, “A Voice for the Voiceless,” as a business entity for my music and art in 2007. I thought of the name after recording my 2006 spoken word album, “Black Butterfly,” in my bedroom closet. The album shared intimate poems (from my published poetry book) about my turbulent journey as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse trying to find myself, unconditional love, wholeness, and healing set to Hip-Hop and R&B beats. It was raw, honest, and full of angst. It was the beginning of my musical journey.
Writing has always been the easiest way to express my feelings and connect with others. I used it in my twenties to deal with a lot of trauma from my past, and I use it today as a songwriter sharing my stories through songs and sometimes for speeches on stage. On this platform, I hope to share my creative, musical, healing journey through my original music, poetry, episodes from my podcast, and videos that I hope will resonate with you in an intimate, authentic way.
