Only 11% of 2018's NYT Bestsellers were by BIPOC individuals so one can only imagine the number of underserved writers out there. In 2021, book publishing made $825.75 million (https://www.statista.com/statistics/422595/print-book-sales-usa/), which means there are many readers who would be willing to read these books.
