Kwago

Founded in 2017, Kwago is an independent, non-stock, non-profit research and publishing laboratory committed to democratize knowledge production and distribution in the Philippines. We work under the principles of Free Open-Source Software (FOSS) but also support the dignity of creative labor. We develop exhibitions, publications, programs and projects to create spaces centered on community, collaboration and collective reimagining of authorship and access. We believe in the power of paper, ink and code as tools for the practice of freedom. Kwago always shares its earnings equitably with its authors, as well as with marginalized communities and victims of state violence who we work closely with.
