Bread & Barricades: A Les Mis Podcast

A Les Mis Podcast believes that learning should be accessible, intersectional and, most of all, fun. Our goal is cover Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables in excruciating detail: reading the novel cover to cover, digesting secondary literature and watching episodes and films and theatre productions, all in the aid of discovering WHY this 19th Century French brick is so #relatable to a millennial audience. AIMS 1) To be an accessible, intersectional Les Mis podcast that is part comedy, part academic. 2) To expand access to research to those without the socio-economic ability to pursue the topic. 3) To be educational for fresh ears to Victor Hugo’s work and entertaining to those more well versed. 4) To elevate the voices of the LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities, and people of colour. 5) To inspire a more diverse group of students to follow this course of study into Higher and Further Education.
