McKenzie Lynn Tozan

Hi friends! I'm so happy to see you here. Thank you for stopping by. I'm excited to go on this new Ko-fi adventure with you as I'm pushing myself to dedicate more time to taking care of myself and doing the work that truly lights me up: more creative writing. I've been slowly getting back into poetry lately, and in the past year, I've written more short stories that I've written in the other 32 years of my life. On this platform, you'll find: - exclusive content, - sneak peeks, and - behind-the-scenes work. We're talking poems and the prompts that inspired them, earlier editions of work or scraped "deleted" scenes, fanfiction, stories and chapters before they're published, etc. There will also be: - serialized novel chapters. I'll be writing books chapter by chapter and releasing a few per month. They will be episodic in nature, so you feel like you're reading a whole "episode" every time I post. When the story is complete, I will revise all of the episodes, ensure the novel flows as a cohesive novel, and then publish that complete edition on Amazon. - I may also incorporate a "Choose Your Own Adventure" feature here, and you'll be able to tell me the direction you'd love for a novel to go in, who should date who, who killed the butler and with which tool, etc. Finally, there will also be: - Commission Opportunities! Want a special poem for Mom on Mother's Day or for the bride and groom at their wedding? Or a special poem to include in a homemade card? I love doing that! - Creative Requests! See a prompt on Tumblr you'd love see turned into a story? Submit it, and maybe I'll write it! Here's a little more about me: McKenzie Lynn Tozan lives and writes in Europe with her family, where she works as a full-time freelancer, poet, novelist, and book reviewer. She received her MFA in Poetry from Western Michigan University and her BA in English/BS in Education from Indiana University South Bend, where she began her work in publishing. Her poems have appeared in Rogue Agent, Whale Road Review, Young Ravens Review, The Birds We Piled Loosely, and Encore Magazine, among others; and her book reviews and essays have appeared on The Rumpus, Green Mountains Review, Memoir Mixtapes, Percolately, and Motherly, and more. When not writing, she enjoys reading, appreciating nature, and spending time with her husband and three children, and dividing their time between Croatia and Chicago.
