Producing good quality recordings doesn't come cheap. Help us cover the costs so we can continue to put the festival on in the years to come - regardless of social distancing requirements!
The Orkney Storytelling Festival is a long weekend of oral storytelling. Organised by the Orcadian Story Trust, it has become an established annual event in the Orkney calendar since its re-emergence in 2010. The festival events take place in locations across Orkney. Alongside local storytellers, the festival brings invited guests to our isles from all over the world. In 2020, due to Covid restrictions we brought the festival online for free. Due to continued demand, we are filming our main live events and putting them online on our Youtube channel until the end of November 2021 (search for Orkney Storytelling Festival). We have also made a special programme of ghostly tales that will be available from 8pm, 30th October. Of course, this still takes money to put on! If you enjoy being able to see our events online, please support us if you can, by buying us a virtual coffee (or dram).
