You should expect to wait 1 month for a writing commission from when first commissioned. I retain full copyrights for the piece but the buyer gains the right to world-wide commercial distribution for the commissioned piece for 5 years. For that 5 year period of time, I concede worldwide commercial distribution rights to the buyer. After that period of time, the worldwide commercial distribution rights revert to me. If the commissioned work is a work for hire then the buyer is also purchasing the full copyrights with the piece. In all cases, the piece must give credit to me, Robert A. Neri Jr., the writer as the author of the piece.
