Câylendar, a project run by Đùm Bọc, is a calendar inspired by the Vietnamese idiom, Cây Nhà Lá Vườn. It features the work of 12 Vietnamese illustrators and artists in the diaspora. Cây Nhà Lá Vườn, loosely translated as 'trees from home & leaves from the garden', is an idiom typically used to describe home-grown things. The theme for Câylendar 2.0 is “Thương người như thể thương thân," love others like you love yourself. The overturning of Roe v. Wade stripped millions of people in the US, especially those with low incomes and those belonging to marginalized communities, of their rights to bodily autonomy. We believe that every person has the right to choose and access healthcare. Nobody is safe until all of us are safe. This year, Câylendar aims to create a platform for Vietnamese women and femmes to share their talent. Proceeds will go to the artists and Abortion Care Network’s Keep Our Clinics campaign.
