This is a hysteretic saturation model cable of approximating transformer and tape saturation. Rather than using a linear waveshaper function, the hysteresis loop captures the behaviour of magnetic flux saturation by following a different return curve after reaching a saturated state. Tubes also exhibit hysteretic behaviour, so this is a useful tool for many analog modelling applications. The input gain controls the amount of saturation. However, it should be noted that even below unity, some level of waveshaping is being applied due to the use of hypertangent functions. The "Window" parameter scales the maximum size of the hysteresis window. In actuality, the loop window is dynamically calculated using an RMS average to simulate the flux loading. The window expands as the "core" or "tape" starts to saturate. There is also a pre-emphasis / de-emphasis EQ section so that the bass/treble response of the saturator can be accented or attenuated. The reverse EQ moves are made on the output signal, so this is primarily to tailer the frequency response of the distortion itself. As usual, this is a pay-what-you-want device, so you can name your price or download for free :)
