This is a pdf download for a knitting pattern to create a cowl. Instructions are written out and charted. A skein of beautiful green yarn, just enough to make a soft, squishy cowl. Leaves to go with the color - simple enough to work up quickly, but interesting enough to avoid being bored from a long tube of plain knitting. About 280 m / 300 yds of sport weight yarn are enough to complete the cowl - perfect for the odd skein from the last yarn haul. Alnus is the scientific name of the Elder tree - the pattern stitch reminds me very much of the leaves of that tree. Wear it doubled for extra warmth or pull it up over the head to have a little protection from rain or snow. Basic knitting knowledge is required: cast-on, bind-off, knit and purl sts, knitting in the round, basic decreases and increases, following a written or charted pattern. I offer my patterns for free. Support is greatly appreciated if you enjoy your experience with my pattern.
