PATTERN UPDATED on 8/18/23 to include more step-by-step photos as well as video links, general readability as well as correcting some typos. No changes made to the pattern itself! If you previously purchased the pattern and have trouble downloading the new version please send a message and have your original order number ready! PATTERN ONLY! This is NOT a completed item! It is the PATTERN. It is a PDF file! THIS IS NOT A CAT DOLL. If you purchase this item, the PATTERN will be immediately available for you to download as a PDF file, which can be opened with Adobe Reader. The awesome PDF file explains how to make this totally awesome crocheted plush toy. It includes the written pattern, images, and some video links, as well as lots of photos of the finished item to help with assembly. It is a MODERATELY DIFFICULT pattern due to many pieces and assembly! Good adventurous beginner project! This black cat doll is based on the Mr. Midnight cat doll(s) seen in the AMAZING indie game Fran Bow! You can also easily customize your cat by using different colors or changing the lengths of the arms and legs or even tail. Please, feel free to get creative! Pattern is in US English. Materials and Supplies • Worsted weight yarn in black, yellow for the eyes and a small amount of pink for the nose, or other desired color(s) for project, you may also want a small amount of white to stitch on eye highlights • Thread or embroidery floss in black to sew on button(s) • Sewing needle for the above • A large brown or gold button for the belly flap • Size F crochet hook • Yarn needle • Pins (optional, but recommended for positioning the parts before attaching – I use bobby pins) • Stitch marker (optional, but recommended for marking the beginning/end of rnds) • Four (4) smaller buttons (optional and only for if you want to have button joints or the illusion of button joints) Abbreviations/Skills Needed • Ch: chain • Sc: single crochet • Sl: slip stitch • Inc: increase • Dec: decrease • St/sts: stitch/stitches • Rnd/rnds: round/rounds Whip stitch/running stitch can be used to join the pieces.
