In the summer of 2022, I am embarking on a new life as a sea gipsy and will be full time cruising for as long as I can physically do so. The only way to keep this lifestyle all year is to locate in the tropics where you don't have to hole up for the winter as you do (mostly) in the higher latitudes. The first milestone in this journey will be reaching the Canary Islands, the "jumping-off" point to cross the Atlantic ocean, which I am planning to undertake in January 2023.
Hello, I'm Paul, skipper of Moon Shadow, a 1988 Sigma 362. In July of 2020, I ditched the rat race for a life afloat. My goal is to prove that anyone can enjoy a cruising lifestyle, that you don't have to have a super-fancy boat or a ton of money, which is just as well because I have neither!
Whilst I have funds to maintain my living expenses any help towards the boat fund will be an enormous help. I have a contingency fund but that has taken quite a beating following the demise of my auxiliary diesel motor.
