I'm a professional software engineer, father, open source contributor, currency trader and gamer, among other things. I love to work on my own projects as well as contributing to the projects that support them. My main project is Arbitrader, a market neutral cryptocurrency trading bot. It makes opposing trades on different exchanges in order to minimize risk and exploit price differences between exchanges. It's a fun project to work on and has even started to build up a small community. Showing people how to use the bot and explaining how it works has been a lot of fun, and nothing helps keep me motivated more than to know that there are other people out there using the thing I built. Another of my projects is Agony Forge. It's a modern framework for developing secure, web based Multi-User Domains (MUDs). MUDs were very popular back in the 90s but suffer from from problems today. Most notably, they operate over a protocol called telnet which is not encrypted or secure at all, and hardly anybody knows how to use it anymore. Moving MUDs onto the web allows modern encryption and authentication through 3rd party providers as well as not requiring players to download some sketchy client they've never heard of.
