When I became a life coach in 2006 most Brits saw personal development as soft skills for the weak/needy/pathetic. They found the 'stiff upper lip' attitude far more acceptable. Since 2006 the conversation has changed. Its okay for men to cry. Mental health and stress management are important areas to focus on and self improvement is an acceptable part of life. The one thing that has always helped me on my journey towards a stronger, better me has been self affirmations. Their power to help me 'fake it till I make it' has seen me change the path I was on to such a large degree even I don't recognise it.
