WE HAVE VOICES is a reading series dedicated to featuring and amplifying the voices of Black creatives in the literary arts. Established in June 2020, the inaugural reading featured Patrick Anderson Jr., Audi Barnes, Melanie Farmer, Malcolm Kelly, Jasmin Pittman Morrel, Jada Reyes, and Erica Rudnick Macalintal. WE HAVE VOICES was created with the goal of giving new and emerging Black writers a platform on which to be heard. With this in mind, WE HAVE VOICES hopes to also use this platform to give future readers equitable compensation for their performances. A large portion of the proceeds will be evenly distributed among future readers, with the remainder used for website/reading maintenance costs.
