Kristin Rouse

I've been a writer all my life, but I've never seriously entertained the notion of writing professionally until just a few years ago. That's when I finally completed a novel I wanted to share with the world and began querying it. Writers face a LOT of rejection, and I'm certainly no exception to that -- it took me almost two years to find someone to say 'yes' to my book. But at long last, THE FIX is getting published later this year by a small press, and I couldn't be more thrilled. However, because I am being published by a small press, the chances of my book becoming an instant best-seller and allowing me to quit my day job forever are even smaller than they'd be if I were publishing with a major publisher. I'm okay with this, because I have a lot of stories to tell, and I'm determined to keep telling them no matter how much or how little money I might make from them. But don't get me wrong -- I want my writing to support me and my family. And I'll definitely get there, one day. In the meantime, I happen to do a LOT of writing at coffee shops -- Sojourners Coffee and Tea and Stella's Coffee Haus both in Denver are my faves, and my novel would never have been completed without copious caffeinated drinks from these two wonderful small businesses. When contributing to me here on Ko-fi, know that you're buying me a drink or maybe a small snack at either Sojos or Stella's, and literally fueling the words that will (hopefully) fuel my future literary success. Thanks for stopping by, friend.
