Severed Chains is a big project. When I started working on it in 2020, I never expected it to get off the ground in the way that it has. But being such a large project, it takes up a big chunk of my free time. I put off setting up a donation page for a long time because it didn't feel right taking donations for an unfinished project. Now that it's playable and we're adding huge new features, donations will let me spend more time on it during my "work" time.
