Each Care bank now costs at least £600 to stock. This money helps us to provide many local families with essential hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, nappies, baby wipes and much more. We have more families accessing our services each month - and with the energy price hikes and overall cost of living increase that number is set to rise with more and more people in need. Our target will help us run the Southend Care Bank until the end of 2023.
The Southend Care Bank is a community care bank focussed on alleviating the impact of hygiene poverty. We are a non-referral service and we welcome anyone who may need us- no questions asked. We can be found at St Mark's Centre in Southend on alternating Tuesdays and at Westcliff Library on the third Thursday of every month. We are a completely volunteer run service and all funds go directly into the running of the care bank.
