Jess, 40-something under-slept and over-caffeinated. I am an artist, a writer, and a maker -- when I'm not being a parent and an educator, at least. I create digital art and illustration centered mostly on femme-presenting folks, and most recently trying to include more and more body- and fat-positivity in my art work. My subject range from the absolutely mundane to the slightly surreal. I recently made the move from Corel Painter and PaintShop Pro to Clip Studio, and -- woo boy -- I am in love. My work has been featured in The Fat Folks Tarot, Fandom for Choice, Project Choice, Fat Craft Zine, and in promotional material for the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention. While writing is a bit on the backburner during the academic year, I do write both poetry and personal essays/articles centering around body image, queerness, and (mostly) being a creative person in the midst of chaos and self-doubt.
