In the middle of the night on 11/10 our 3-year-old dog, Toko, experienced a sudden decline and onset of breathing issues. He is currently hospitalized and receiving oxygen. Toko is expected to require up to a week in the hospital and we are taking things day by day. The high end of what is estimated for what he needs is almost twice of what we already maxed out from care credit.
Lee is a citizen of the Koasek Abenaki Tribe, a Tribal Documentarian, as well as a Native American educator & filmmaker. Much of the Abenaki culture & traditions are endangered by the deaths of each Elder, due to acts of historic & contemporary violence & racism. Realizing the ongoing threat to the continuity of knowledge of his people, art, oral traditions & decided to preserve their culture.
Askawobi Productions is run by Abenaki filmmaker and educator, Lee Longtoe. Lee focuses on creating work that will preserve the traditions and culture of his people for generations to come. He was also a part of the 2018-2019 US-UK Fulbright Scholar cohort, furthering their studies in environmental science and sustainability.
