The next step is to get parts for the 2U CubeSat structure CNC machined. I can do some of it myself, but the complex parts are ordered from PCBWay. Reaching this goal will get us to a mechanical prototype, for which I can then start designing the electronics.
Hi, my name is Manuel and I am teaching myself how to build a satellite. In 2020 I set out to learn everything I needed to build a spaceworthy CubeSat that could actually be launched and do something useful in orbit – without any prior technical training. I used to work in film production before. In early 2024 I started my YouTube channel to document my progress and share what I learn with other space enthusiasts. Everything I do with Build a CubeSat is freely available in the repo on Codeberg. It's not just open source, but public domain. My goal is to make participation in space more accessible. After all, space is for everyone.
