I am humbled and hyped to be accepted to WRITING THE NEXT WORLD, a writing workshop rooted in the lineages of visionary and speculative fiction and Black Feminist Praxis hosted by the b/Brown sisters and Bog & Thunder this summer in Slane, Ireland. Despite receiving a generous scholarship, this retreat won't be cheap.
I'm Che. I am a storyteller, facilitator, street medic, filmmaker, freedom dreamer, somatic abolitionist, emcee, energy worker, educator, and possibly temporally-displaced griot. I believe in the “inescapable network of mutuality,” that “the body keeps the score,” and that “next time you ask yourself where hip hop is going, ask yourself ‘Where am I going?’” My work revolves around repairing, restoring, and transforming that mutuality network. In facilitation and education, through art and performance, and through mutual aid and solidarity actions, I work to heal and forge connections that circumvent circumscribed relational modalities.
