Hello, my name is Damian Rucci and I am a poet, performer, and organizer from New Jersey. I am the founder of the NJ Poetry Renaissance, a working class poetry movement that has taken the Garden State by storm. I left my job to do this full time and I am currently hosting 9 wildly successful poetry shows, aiding in the growth of poetry scenes around the country, and working to bring poetry from obscurity into the minds of the masses. A documentary centering around my friends and I and the birth of the NJ Poetry Renaissance is forthcoming in February titled Voices in The Garden. I publish a substack newsletter Poets Like Us about this poet journey I have been on for the last decade. The newsletter and every show I host are totally free. That is why this Ko-fi exists. I refuse to charge people to come to the shows and I quit my day job but I have always felt that if I did good for the community and worked my ass off that I would be okay.
