Dr Narissa Bax collaborates extensively as an Honorary Curator of Zoology at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery with an adjunct position at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies working with the Centre for Marine Socioecology. She is supportive of arts projects with a connection to the deep-sea and coral reefs, has reviewed book chapters relevant to the Southern Ocean. She is a qualified boat driver, sailor, scientific SCUBA diver. She brought her first yacht in 2017, Dune a 30ft research vessel (in the making) participating in the CSIRO ecological mooring monitoring Spotted Hand-fish.(Brachionichthys hirsutus) populations. Her leisure time is spent sailing and adventuring in remote locations often in conjunction with conservation and research project commitments.
