We're aiming to raise £2000 to match the generous funding grant we've received from the Lipman-Miliband Trust. £2000 means we can pay contributors for up to four months, which is as long as we've been running since we launched - so reaching £4000 could take us all the way to summer 2021. The stories we've published up until this point have been submitted by writers who are very kindly willing to write for free - but as writers ourselves we know how shit it is when editors expect you to work for nothing, and we don't want to demand that of people any longer than is absolutely necessary. On top of that, we're looking to raise an extra £500 to cover admin costs like the price of our website. ERA is completely volunteer-run, and we won't be paying ourselves. Everything goes to contributors and keeping the site live and full. If you value reading the kind of history you won't get taught in school, please consider making a contribution to ERA.
