It's been a very hard year. My partner had covid a year ago, and his health has been a lot worse since, impacting his ability to work. I'm so severely disabled we don't even know if I had it too, but my breathing in particular has been a lot worse. I've had all sorts of unexpected costs, from trying the anti-fluff setting on my washing machine and blocking the pipes, to the bed breaking underneath us one morning, and I'm struggling to pay my bills.
I'm a disabled quilter living in Scotland with my partner and our cat. I blog intermittently at https://evequilts.blogspot.com/ and post a lot more on www.instagram.com/toboldlyquilt. I'm interested in a variety of quilting styles, especially improvisational quilting at the moment, and have been developing little-known utility quilting techniques that are easier for my hands. If you would like to see more photos or explanations of the techniques I use, especially the ones I've adapted due to my disabilities, please ask! At the moment I'm generally fundraising for materials. I don't sell my quilts, I make them for my friends, many of whom are also disabled. A Ko-fi donation is around the cost of a quarter metre cut of fabric, the main building block of my work.
