Gallay Farmbox

Farmbox is a collection of community planter boxes built from discarded materials, which are being spread around Toronto (and other cities soon) so locals may grow plants in underused spaces. It is meant as an encouragement and tool to grow where you live, to help fight rising food costs, to push back against food deserts, to beautify and bring together communities, and to encourage the eating of plant-based food. Do you live in a condo or basement apartment with poor light or without space to grow plants? Do you not have outdoor space to grow food or have never tried? Do you want to transform a patch of weeds near you into an herb garden or a lush tomato patch? Farmbox will make it happen. I encourage you to check out Gallay.com for all the information on the project and to get in touch with any questions, comments, or to get involved, or best of all...to get a farm of your own! As for any funds which are gifted here, they will be put towards the various costs of running the enterprise, from among many costs such as brace wood, screws, soil, plant materials, seeds, burlap, landscape cloth, saw blades, gas (pickups and deliveries), sandpaper, and several other costs.
