Grey Hand Press is a printmaking studio in Brisbane, Australia which provides contract printing and publishing options for local and international artists. Our mission is to make printmaking an accessible medium for artists, and to provide fine art print education to printmakers of all ages. At our studio, we specialise in the art of traditional stone lithography - a chemical process of creating images from limestone and printing to paper. The studio teaches classes in all forms of lithography, intaglio, and relief printing (linocut and woodcut). Through our Ko-Fi page, we hope to continue sharing in our love for printmaking with the international community with videos, blog posts, how-tos and take-home instructions on materials and processes.
We're thrilled to share that Chris has been awarded a George Alexander Fellowship through the International Specialised Skills Institute. We have been developing references and resources fine-tuned for regional lithography practitioners. The fellowship has been based in a series of intensive training and consultation opportunities including the 2023 Tamarind Summer Workshop intensive in stone lithography. While the fellowship has been an excellent start, we're looking to every resource we can to improve accessibility to lithographic printing techniques in the Australasia region and connect with the global community.
