A Heartiversary is a special celebration of a person's last open heart surgery. Everyone 1 in 100 children is born with Congenital Heart Defects, many of which will require open heart surgery within their first year of life. The Heart Box Project surprises Heart Children across British Columbia with a "Heart Box" filled with party supplies, treats and a small gift to commemorate this special occasion.

Hello and thank you for visiting! We love putting Heart Boxes together for children living with CHD - we would love to put more items in each box, so we appreciate any support to keep us running! Donating doesn't have to be extravagant. Even a one-time donation in lieu of your daily cup of coffee ($3) can go a long way! If you want to be a continuous supporter, a monthly donation of... $3/month - will cover the cost of our branded packaging tape that we use to seal and decorate our Heart Boxes. $5/month - will pay for an entire Heart Box after one year of donating! $8/month - will cover our monthly website costs. $10/month - allows us to purchase one book or small toy each month. $20/month - will buy one primary gift for a Heart Box each month (or cover the costs of 4 complete Heart Boxes each year!). $50/month - Will fully sponsor our yearly Holiday CICU Boxes (10 Heart Boxes filled with holiday joy we deliver to the Cardiac Intensive Care unit at BC Children's Hospital before Christmas). --- For transparency, here is a look at our basic operating costs: $98.11 yearly - Website - Keeping our hosting with a Canadian company, our domain name costs $24.33/yearly and hosting is $73.78/yearly - note: we are not currently hosting, but we'd like to in the near future! $14 per Heart Box - Shipping - $12 for local boxes, $14-17 for boxes outside of Greater Vancouver. $15 per Heart Box - Party Items - Boxes include party items like: plates, dessert plates, napkins, utensils, straws, cups, streamers, balloons (to allow for a full Heartiversary celebration!). $15-20 per Heart Box - Primary Gift - We try to keep gifts educational or inspirational and small enough to fit in our shipping boxes. $5-15 per Heart Box - Book - We love encouraging reading, so we always try to add an age appropriate book to our boxes. $36/year - Customized Box Tape - 90m tape from Sticker Mule $30 for 25 Shipping Boxes - 16''x12''x4'' Corrugated Shipping Box from Staples We do not take a cut from any of the donations for our Heart Boxes, but if you'd like to send us money for an actual cup of coffee (or a hot chocolate in my son Winston's case) we'd love that - be sure to mention it in your donation! :) Dee & Meagan (and Winston too!)
