Within the next two to three years, I need to save up a lot of money for gender affirming surgery. What I want isn't covered by my provincial health plan. I appreciate anything that will help me get there.
Transitioning is expensive! Medical expenses, clothes, support, it all adds up. An extra few dollars a month would really make a difference. I recently found out that my extended health insurance doesn't pay for any gender affirming procedures. Everything that's not covered by provincial health care is going to be out of pocket except most of my medication costs. The only surgery that's covered is PIV bottom surgery, which is not the procedure I need for my identity.
