We reached bitmillionaires from Poland. Michał quit his job and is about to reach a million on his account. He is afraid to give his name Michał resigned from his job to invest in bitcoin and other virtual currencies. He is about to see one million zlotys in his account. Przemek (that's how he presents himself) in turn wants to double his portfolio within a year. If he succeeds, he will have 10 million PLN. - Not so long ago I was giving bitcoins as a wedding gift to my friends. Back then they were worth a few hundred zlotys each. I thought it was better than money in an envelope. Some people still keep it and do not know how much it is worth - he laughs. No names, no recordings, no data. In Poland there are quite a few people who keep more than a million zlotys in virtual currency. How many? Absolutely no one knows. There is no official or scientific data. Nobody has taken care of it. And it will probably stay that way. Until the people involved reveal themselves. I reached out to several people who have made gigantic amounts of money on cryptocurrencies. They all warn that investing in cryptocurrencies is no fun. The easy profits ended years ago. These guys, however, made it. No names, no records - Cryptocurrencies are a full-time profession. I spend at least eight hours each day working on them. And even overtime is nothing special - says Michał. He is 30 years old and a computer scientist by profession. He has no family. But in his investment portfolio he has the equivalent of over 800 thousand PLN. Or at least this is what he had when we talked 48 hours ago. Today it is over a dozen thousand zlotys more. Unless in the meantime he found a better way to increase his account balance. At this rate he will be a millionaire by the end of the year. Or actually a bitmillionaire. Because I guess that's what we have to call the virtual rich. He started less than a year ago. He bought one bitcoin for the equivalent of four thousand zlotys. Today, for that amount he would have just 8 bitcents (or eight hundredths of a bitcoin). - Even then I thought that the four thousand zloty for a bitcoin was a mountain of money. I was hoping it would go up a little. A little bit. I had no investment experience. I had previously put some money into the forex market. I lost. And so this time I started by learning. And understanding what it was actually all about," he says. Before he started trading seriously, he spent two months reading blogs, books and articles on the Internet. Since then he started to gradually add to cryptocurrencies. If he sold everything, he would earn almost 2000 percent in seven months. - If someone thinks that he can make millions overnight and without any sacrifices, he will get nowhere. Most likely he will lose - he warns. Michał gave up his IT job. He now travels only to customers with whom he has signed long contracts. He does not have to do it but he did not want to leave them with nothing. He does not want to reveal himself. He does not want his name or picture to appear in the material. Michael: I previously put some money into the forex market. I lost. And so this time I started by learning. And understanding what it's actually about. Without that, there are only losses. With that, he wants to avoid problems. He pays his taxes honestly, but he is afraid that the tax authorities will stick around anyway. This is the fear of most investors in this industry. There is also another reason - the fear of an attack on the account. - I do not brag to my friends about how much I have earned either. I openly admit that I trade with cryptocurrencies and it goes well for me. But I stop there. And I do not drag my family into it - he says. Przemek (not his real name, but that is how he wants to be presented) keeps even more money in cryptocurrencies. And he wants to be even more careful about anonymity. Age - he does not want to reveal. He only gave a range. - A little more than 30, a little less than 40. He has a wife, a daughter. He doesn't want to give his place of residence either. Before we start talking, he asks me not to record anything. And he doesn't even mean that I will publish fragments of the conversation. Rather, it's that someone could steal it from me and learn his identity. That's how he protects himself. This is how bitcoin has grown over the last 12 months. It just hit the $17,000 mark. Before the era of virtual currencies he worked in sales, specifically in the FMCG industry (groceries, cleaning products).
