I'm a PHD student in Computing Science at the University of Dundee, interested in all things Linux, Rust, Virtualisation, scripting and graphics programming. I like experimenting with new toolkits and languages, and customising the tools i use.
Hi, I'm Deren: - I'm from Scotland, and I'm currently studying a PhD in Dundee - My PhD focuses on thermal/infrared-focused rasterization simulations of spacecraft, and the generation of photo-realistic images using these simulations - this means i focus on making quick C++ OpenGL prototypes to prove theories/concepts! - In my spare time, i like to focus on improving my abilities as a programmer and experimenting with new toolkits and languages - e.g. developing Rust-based utilities for fun/practice - as well as a bit of Bash/Python scripting to make my life easier. - I enjoy customising the tools i use to chase the perfect setup - I use Linux as my daily-driver OS and have done for ~6 years, moving from Ubuntu Gnome to Manjaro KDE, and finally to Fedora KDE - Your help lets me focus on what I love, programming and scripting, without worrying about rent too!
