Kia ora! I'm Matthew, a Software Engineer working in Sydney. I write open source software for fun. My big project is Extension Manager (https://github.com/mjakeman/extension-manager) - a popular utility for GNOME that aims to make customising your desktop easy and fun. I'm the sole maintainer of the project so it does take a big chunk of my time, but it's something I enjoy a lot. I also work on a lot of other cool things: - I'm writing Text Engine (https://github.com/mjakeman/text-engine), which will (one day) be an embeddable cross-platform rich text control. - I created Write (https://mattjakeman.com/write), a web app to help build good writing habits. It lets you separate writing from editing and gets words on the page (screen?). - More to come! My work on free software is exactly that; it'll always be *free forever*.
