We fell in love with bringing stories to life with our own voices and bodies, even though, at times, we were sidelined and ignored. Inspired by our cultural backgrounds in the United States, Mexico, and the Philippines, we named ourselves More Más Marami Arts in order to make space for ourselves and our communities in the art world. But we can’t do it by ourselves. Starting a company, let alone an arts company, is tough. We’re incredibly grateful for the support and generosity we’ve received from the School of Arts & Culture, San Jose State University, Billy DeFrank, Awesome Foundation, SVCreates, and all the cafes we’ve been meeting in. (TY CREMA<3) Whether it’s our first ever one acts festival in January 2020, our Trespass Theatre series that brings theatre to unconventional performance spaces, or our new script reading series, Works in Progress, we always approach our productions as celebrations. As a super small, grassroots arts org, all of our productions serve as starting points. Whatever you can give will help us continue to grow our programming and help us to create space to showcase artists in the South Bay Area. Your contribution will be divided up as follows: 1/3 back to the company to help pay for rental space, tech, and investment in future productions. 1/3 to local artists we collaborate with, because their art should be paid for with actual, real money and never just "exposure". 1/3 to our Directors, the faces behind the scenes who put countless hours into organizing and producing the shows you enjoy. Your donation will be supporting local artists doing what they love to do and bringing back community theatre to your city. Thank you and we hope to see you at one of our shows!
