I was awarded my first artist residency at Craigardan in Elizabethtown NY! I was selected based on artistic merit to receive 1 of 50 spots. This is an accomplishment in itself, but I will not be able to accept my place if I cannot find a way to fund it. The residency is located in the Adirondack mountains on a farm where I will be participating in the work exchange program working with sheep and wool production! I plan to develop my punch needle visual art using wool and yarn from the farm. TY!
Lauren is an Intuitive Textile artist, Creating from a place of spirit led direction. Their work spans multiple mediums that are interconnected. They are currently working in the mediums of Wool dyeing, yarn spinning, knitwear design and punchneedle. This work is soul led to inspire beauty and pleasure in the world, to facilitate healing, to empower others on their own fiber arts journey, and to encourage consciousness about the the textiles we wear and the just relationships in which they were created, from farm to fabric.

I am currently crowdfunding to be able to attend my first ever artist residency! I was selected based on artistic merit to receive 1 of 50 spots. (an accomplishment in itself) in order for me to be able to travel to the residency and accept my award I need to raise some money. During my time in residency I plan to develop my punch needle visual art deck of cards that I have been working on since early 2022. This residency just so happens to be located on a working sheep farm! The ability to work with local fibers, support regenerative agriculture and develop my skills as a fiber artist at this residency is a unique opportunity that ties into my values as an artist and I would like to be able to accept, But I need your help to make it financially possible.
